CES 2017: AI was big at the event. Alexa was there to capitalize.

As usual there were some trending headlines and topics at CES this year in Las Vegas. One of those at CES 2017 was AI. Nissan and BMW announced at they were going to integrate Microsoft’s personal assistant Cortana in some of their future cars while the Google Assistant was integrated with the Nvidia Shield. But, Alexa probably won most of the AI headlines at CES 2017. Here is a review of a few of them.

Lenovo, the company known for it’s 2-in-1 Yoga line among other products announced that it was going to be releasing a speaker by the name, Lenovo Smart Assistant. The speaker is built with Harman Kordon premium audio and more importantly the Amazon Alexa voice assistant. Steve Rabuchin, the vice president of Amazon Alexa said, “At Amazon, we work hard to provide customers with as much choice as possible—and Lenovo’s new Smart Assistant speaker does just that through leveraging the power of Alexa Voice Services (AVS). We can’t wait for customers to try this out later this year.” But, the Lenovo device isn’t entirely new; it looks awfully a lot like the Amazon Echo speakers.
