What is Google? A subsidiary of Alphabet! What? Here are the details.

Yesterday, Larry Page announced a major restructuring of Google. He announced a new company, Alphabet Inc., which, according to him, is, “mostly a collection of companies.” One of those companies is Google which means Google now is a subsidiary of Alphabet Inc. According to new CEO of Alphabet Larry Page, “Alphabet Inc. will replace Google Inc. as the publicly-traded entity and all shares of Google will automatically convert into the same number of shares of Alphabet, with all the same rights.”
Alphabet will work under the leadership of new CEO Larry Page and new President Sergey Brin while, the Google CEO job will shift to Sundar Pichai. According to Larry Page this new restructuring will also improve their investment section, Ventures and Capital.
Overall, this is big deal in the technology industry and is going to take time to get used to. Even Larry Page acknowledged that, “Don’t worry, we’re still getting used to the name too!”. There is a lot that is this move could change in the tech world.
